Naturopathy
Naturopathy aims to prevent disease or to establish body balance in the most natural way. It is a system that has its origin in traditional practices and best health approaches to help our body heal.
Orthodox treatment tends to look from a segregated view of the body when treating disease whereas Naturopathy brings the body back to holistic balance, aiming for homeostasis, which allows health restoration naturally. It works with nature and considers treating the individuals holistically. It also aims to address the underlying cause, not just the manifestation of symptoms (disease).
Naturopathy includes a variety of treatments alongside herbal medicine, hirudotheraphy, hypnotherapy, iridology, and cuppings to name a few.
To restore equilibrium, it is combining therapies and education on how to avoid potential issues providing the best and long-term results. A naturopathic practitioner aims to support the whole person holistically, through physical, mental and psychological issues.
Herbal Medicine
For thousands of years, healing with herbs had been the mainstream in medicine. Every culture and tradition developed its own systems of healing such as Ayurveda in India, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine in Asia and Western Herbal Medicine which has its roots in Europe and the Middle East.
Herbs used according to traditional practice have additional ‘energetic’ actions such as warming, cooling, relaxing, or stimulating which can create dynamic reactions in a body during the healing processes. They can also affect the psychological and emotional aspects of our well-being and promote health restoration through detoxification, improving digestion, and supporting individual organs and systems.
People using medicinal herbs do not get dependent on them as they do not have constituents that are habit-forming. Herbs are generally safer than conventional medications.
Using and combining herbs with modern scientific research, together brings a new approach to herbal treatment, supporting health naturally through natural wisdom, with the best knowledge of past and present.
Although many pharmaceutical products used today are based on herb substances, there is a huge difference between using the individual ingredient and using the whole herb.
Generally, a pharmaceutical herbal drug or supplement that has been extracted and synthesised in laboratories contains one or two active compounds derived from a plant matter. However, the most effective results are seen when the whole plants are utilised. It is a synergy of combinations of the compounds which makes herbal medicine so effective and reduces side effects.
‘’The whole (herb) is greater than the sum of its parts’’, is the motto of a true herbalist.
Almost any condition can be treated with Herbal Medicine alone or with other forms of naturopathic treatment.
Iridology
Iridology is a study of the eye iris. Iris can reflect health condition, individual predisposition toward specific diseases toxins in tissue and even future potential threats. The surface of an iris is divided into areas responding to individual organs. Looking into the iris we can see processes that took place within a body often before they might lead to a certain condition. Iridology is used as a diagnostic tool and provides more details about an individual’s condition.
During the consultation, special equipment is used, and a magnified photograph of an iris is taken and displayed on the screen. Most of the time this is the first time when patients can see their iris in detail in large magnification and later, they are discussed during the consultation.
